Parade on Rockaway Questions

Where is the parade route?

The parade kicks-off on 130th street and Rockaway Blvd. Our 16 plus floats and dancers march east bound down Rockaway Blvd towards 143rd Street.  At 143rd street the celebration continues at 142-82 Rockaway Blvd. with our Hope Holiday Winter Village featuring vendors for shopping, food, special Christmas attractions, and much more!

Who can attend the parade?

Humans and animals...on leashes!

Where is the best spot to see the parade?

Great views can be found along the parade route.  You may camp out anywhere from 130th street to 143rd street on Rockaway Blvd.  However, if you plan on attending the Hope Holiday Winter Village, we suggest you stand closest to 143rd street. ​

Am I allowed to take pictures?

Yes, take as many pictures and share on social media.  Don't forget to tag us #paradeonrockaway22. (the Parade On Rockaway administration reserves all photo rights)

What time does the parade start?

We start promptly at 6pm, but to get a good viewing spot line up early.

Can I ride on a float?

Only our participants are invited to walk in the parade or ride a float and issued a badge. To participate call 718.848.2810,

I have a float, car, balloon, etc. that I want to enter in the parade. How do I do that?

We love and appreciate your enthusiasm.  All floats are designed and created by the creative team of Parade On Rockaway.  Submit a request and once your entry is in line with our theme and guidelines that allow us to provide this unique Christmas experience we will be in touch.

Who pays for the parade?

The bulk of the cost of the parade is covered by HopeNYC Church.

​Can I bring all my family and friends?

The Parade on Rockaway has always been and will always be a family event.  Invite all your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors – tells a stranger on the street about it because it’s going to be an amazing evening!

Is there special access for spectators with special needs?

There are 13 blocks of public viewing access to everyone.

Where do we park?

Street parking is available. 

​

How can I access via public transportation?

The Hope Village is accessible via the Q40 bus and Q7 bus (143rd St & Rockaway). If taking the A train, take the Q10 bus to Lefferts Blvd & Rockaway Blvd and then transfer to Q7.

Is there an admission cost to enter? 

Nope! FREE entry for everyone. 

​

Will every kid get a toy? 

As long as they register beforehand (so we know their age), yes!

What age does a child need to be to receive a toy? 

0-10

Will there be food?

There will be lots of food vendors with different kinds of food. 

​

How many people are expected?

That is unforeseeable but we are catering for 20,000.
